Classic Vanilla Cupcakes
These classic vanilla cupcakes are a great place to start if you're new to baking. They're simple to make and always a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Alternately add the dry ingredients and the milk to the wet ingredients, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
